"To ensure that every family utilizes their voice during pregnancy, birth, and post-partum services"

Congratulations! This season of your life is exciting and bound to be life-changing. One of the most important tools for you to use in order to have the most satisfactory pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum period is a well-planned support team. I am grateful that you’re considering making me a part of that team!

Why did you decide to become a Doula?

I decided to become a Doula after my second miscarriage as I learned about what a mother experiences while dealing with medical professionals during pregnancy, birth, and loss. Since then, I created J. Mason Foundation to supply families that show a need (i.e. loss of job, lack of family/social support, etc.) with items they need to ensure a successful journey to parenthood.

Training and Experience:

I obtained my training as a birth & bereavement Doula through Sister’s in Loss. I continue to build upon my training gained from Sister’s in Loss by participating in additional training's and field experience.

Philosophy of Birth Stories:

Throughout my personal birthing experiences, I have found that a woman’s birth story becomes a memorable part of who she is. How an expecting mother is treated during pregnancy and delivery sticks with her for a lifetime! I would love help you memorialize one of your most vulnerable yet most powerful moments through the delivery of your baby. It is my goal to help women and their partners craft birth plans that make them feel the most confident when approaching their births and I will provide continuous support to the mother and/or partner when the day arrives so that you both come away from the experience feeling proud of your birthing story no matter how it unfolds.

What to expect while working with me:

  • I assist with developing a detailed birth plan for the family and ensure those wishes are accommodated in the birthing room.

  • I provide continuous physical and emotional support (in person and/or virtually).

  • I provide resources if/when asked (i.e. brochures, handouts, articles, websites, and books).
